These leads are perfect for any location where you need more grip, such as rivers, cliffs, marginal drop-offs, or long-distance boat fishing. We've found that you can get the same grip with a 1-ounce Grippa lead as you can with a 2-ounce Swivel Pear lead.
So with that in mind, you can do the same job with a smaller lead, which is an advantage when fishing for barbel or chub in rivers. A lighter lead also creates less splash, and we like to use it for casting to the slightly curved edges of the island where a round lead might roll down.
Grippa leads have become extremely popular on the continent where carp fishing on wild, fast-flowing rivers is common and where bait has to be cast a great distance.
