Velvet Bait in Pusiano

Monday, April 22nd at 6 am, departure for Lake Pusiano, the car loaded and the desire to reach this wonderful lake is a thousand!!!!

A long-planned session where I left nothing to chance!

The Velvet Baits (boiles of my own formulation) will be the faithful companions for this 4-day session which for the occasion I have focused entirely on the Comarcia station at Salici.

Once I get to the post office I immediately set up my Aqua M3 Compact (which, given the 4 days of incessant rain, will prove to be a safe and comfortable shelter) and then I place the Solar Worldwide on the dock!

After having scanned the seabed I decide to drop the first bait close to a reed bed at 1.3 m depth , the second on a step at 2.6 m and the third point at a greater depth of over 6 m .
For the baiting I rely on the new black velvet baits spot care line previously wetted with the black velvet liquid additive and for the bait I opted for a 24mm red velvet balanced with a 15mm yellow velvet pop ups, it will be precisely this presentation that will immediately give me a 14kg queen caught right at a depth of 2.6m.

On Wednesday morning, unstable weather conditions and strong, cold winds caused the water temperature to drop by more than 2 degrees, so I decided to place the baits at greater depths.
For the descents from the boat I opted for the classic and always reliable set-up with a disposable stone and given the rather soft bottom I used sturdy 35cm long terminals.

And suddenly at 7am on the last day Pusiano rewards me with a decisive start that makes my Delkim beep wildly.
After the strike I immediately get on the dinghy and head towards the fish, I can see it clearly, thanks to the clarity of the water I immediately realize that it is a beautiful and large queen and she in fact proves to be up to the task by giving me a breathtaking fight made even more exciting with theHarrison Advanced Rods 10Ft Torrix stalker 3.25 lb.

Rods with a good power reserve and wonderful action!

Once I've landed her, I return to the pier with my heart pounding and the desire to hold her in my arms is so great, and once I get to land I put on my Vass waders and for the ritual photos and then after the final kiss, the release.

My session in Pusiano ends here with two beautiful fish and, admiring the horizon in front of me, I have nothing left to do but take home emotions, colors, scents and experiences that will remain indelibly imprinted in my heart.

Thank you, Pusiano, for these days spent on your wonderful shores, and see you at the next session.

Nicholas
