When you choose a Torrix the first thing you appreciate is the 1k woven fabric finish of the stock.
1K carbon is a premium material, but it adds strength without adding too much weight, so we use it in all our rods. The tip section has a small 1K layer at the joint, but the tip has a thoracic rib of carbon ply inside and doesn't require the full 1K layer on the outside. During development, we added a layer of 1K up to the tip to create a uniform design, but compared to a plain tip, we felt it offered slightly better balance and greater sensitivity, so we chose to go "naked," without weaving the tip.
Harrison Torrix is the flagship of the Harrison range.
It's lighter, thinner, and has a faster tip recovery speed than anything I've ever made. It has a beautiful 1K weave on the butt section and is finished with Kigan 3D guides, a Fuji DPS20 reel seat , steel collars around the seat, and a short, shrink-wrapped rubber handle with a stainless steel butt cap.
Overall this is an amazing tool.
In grass tests we got close to 200yd (182 metres) with the best English casters, so you can confidently rely on your Torrix to be able to fish easily and at long range.
Surely every caster is unique and has a completely personal technique, so don't make the mistake of taking these numbers just stated and making them default, you must always remember that the rod needs the fisherman :-)
What we can assure you though is that with a Torrix you should be able to fish at a greater distance than any comparable rod on the market, the Harrison Custom Rods Torrix has been designed and optimized to allow everyone to make the most of their casting skills, and this is because it makes the most of the action of the butt which makes it less critical.
NB As already specified at the beginning of the product sheet, all Harrison Custom Rods models can be customized and made unique. To do so, simply contact us by email or telephone and draw up together a list of the customizations you deem appropriate to make to your Torrix rod.
