The original Korda Longshank X was based on the original and popular fly hook designs, which found favour with carp anglers due to their shape and hooking ability - we have made them much stronger and sharper.
Fast forward 20 years and DF has once again tweaked this ultimate carp catcher. Heavily influenced by his diving experiences, Dan has decided to make two major changes to one of his favorite models, making it an even more lethal option in his arsenal.
The first modification was to create a hook with a beaked point. During testing, the beaked point provided a more secure hook hold, significantly increasing the hook-to-land ratio.
The other change was to further inward-facing the hook. The original model had an eye angled 20 degrees, while the new beaked version increases this angle to 40 degrees. This helps the hook flip and rotate extremely quickly in the carp's mouth, ensuring a consistently good hook hold.
In keeping with the original design, the Longshank Beaked is forged, with a thicker wire gauge for added strength, while maintaining its durability with a PTFE coating.
Available in sizes 2, 4, 6 and 8, with and without barbs, with ten hooks per pack.
