The Heli-Safe system is great for use with any heli-style setup, whether you're using a conventional rig or a chod, and is now available built on Kable leadcore and ready to use straight out of the box.
These leadcore leaders are 1m long, making them perfect for locking everything down to the lakebed and protecting fish from line damage during the fight, but not so long as to negatively impact your cast. Not only is this a brilliant anti-tangle system, but it's also very safe for fish as it incorporates the Mini Heli-Safe System—a more compact version of the original—and ensures the lead releases whenever needed. It also incorporates our No-Trace safety system, which ensures that if the main line breaks, the hook link can easily detach from the leader, and each pack contains two spare No-Trace beads (these can also be purchased separately when you need more).
The top rubber of the No-Trace safety system can be positioned close to the lead when fishing on a clean lakebed, or moved to the other end of the rig when fishing over weed or debris, especially with chods.
The Mini Heli-Safe can be set up in a variety of ways depending on the fishing situation, with the standard spring releasing the leash with minimal pressure and ensuring it drops off during the take, which is great in thick grass.
Or it can be replaced by the red source (two supplied) designed for waters generally free of snags and weeds, and where you want to drop the lead only if it gets stuck in something.
There is also the option of adding a collar (two supplied) which means that the leash will never be expelled, but in the event of a breakage the fish will still be able to free itself thanks to the No-Trace Safety System.
Using a size 11 QC swivel makes changing rigs quick and easy, and a spliced ring at one end makes it easy to connect to your main line – the loop-to-loop style is the easiest and quickest.
Kable Heli-Safe Leadcore leaders are available in a choice of Gravel Brown or Weed/Silt, with two per pack, and also come with: 2 x spare No-Trace beads; 2 x Mini Heli-Safe collars; 2 x Red Mini Heli-Safe springs.
