Kama Kote is a corrosion-resistant compound for hook points, designed to perfectly complement our Kamakura hook range. This little addition to your toolbox will ensure your hook points are protected from corrosion, keeping your super-sharp hooks in tip-top condition.
This specially developed product is non-petroleum-based and both odorless and water-clear. It has excellent water resistance, staying in place longer.
If you're a hook sharpener or use Kamakura hooks, you'll know that sharp hooks corrode when immersed in water, often losing their initial edge. Kamukura hooks aren't as prone to this corrosion underwater due to their ultra-smooth, almost glossy finish, but both will benefit from a light application of Kama Kote.
Unlike standard petroleum jelly, it is completely odorless and forms a barrier between the water and the steel that keeps the hooks in tip-top condition while they wait for "their" moment." Darrell Peck
