It's a braided line made from 100% ultra-strong Spectra fibers processed with Ultra Body Technology to create a rounded, incredibly smooth section. Thanks to these characteristics, PowerPro spools beautifully on the reel (the coils don't get tangled), doesn't rub on the rod guides (preventing damage), allows for perfect knots to be tied, and comes out flawlessly when casting, allowing for otherwise unthinkable casts.
Its compact structure minimizes water absorption (a factor that also affects nylon monofilaments), limits its diameter and brings its elasticity close to zero. Imagine fishing at long distances and being able to detect the slightest vibration in the line with your bite alarms: fantastic! The Spectra fibers used make the PowerPro extremely tough and abrasion-resistant. You can fish, for example, with a diameter of 0.19 mm and have a breaking strain of 13 kg!
The advantages are clear: longer casting distances, less drag on the water and therefore less belly flop, lightning-fast hook-sets at long distances (the rod action, as some believe, has no effect hundreds of meters from the shore), and constant, direct contact with the prey. Due to its extraordinary qualities, PowerPro can also be used as an excellent shock-snag leader and as a line for building excellent rigs—try it and believe it!
The PowerPro is available in three colors: dark green, fluorescent yellow (for high night visibility) and white in spools of 0.92m, 135m, 275m, 455m and 1370m.
