The Incizor has always been an extraordinarily versatile model that can be used in combination with almost any terminal material.
The straight eye means you can use them with 'Trip Wire' style stiff terminal materials on Chod rigs and Hinged Stiff rigs.
Now updated as part of the introduction of the Covert Dark range, it has a longer, tapered tip that's even sharper.
This latest Covert Dark version of this pattern features the new, stripped-down Covert Dark plating which still offers excellent camouflage, thanks to the dark matte finish, but also ensures that the hook points remain absolutely pristine and razor sharp.
Covert Dark is a single layer electroplated, so reducing handling during the finishing process ensures the tips stay as sharp as the day they were made.
A second major spec change is that we’ve modified the shape and length of the Incizor’s tip so that it’s now longer, thinner, and even sharper than before.
The new long, tapered points are a major improvement that ensures the hook sets even faster and penetrates more easily.
Gardner has also updated to a micro barb on all new hooks in the Covert Dark line.
This offers two main advantages
First, many commercial fisheries require anglers to use patterns with small barbs as they are kinder to the fish's mouth, and second, micro-barbed hooks are stronger as less wire is cut to form the barb.
The Incizor has always offered exceptional hook hold as the combination of the medium-length shank and straight, inward-facing point means the penetration angle is simply as good as it gets for this type of hook; and the improved point and micro barb only enhance this performance.
Having a straight eye also means that the Incizor is the perfect pattern to use with fluorocarbon leaders as sharply inward-facing eyes can cause a weak point with some fluorocarbon materials.
With the addition of a small kicker made of heat shrink tubing or Covert Hook Aligner, they're perfect for braided and bare leaders. Truly versatile...
The incizors are STURDY hooks.
They are made from extra strong wire and can be used with complete safety in almost any carp fishing situation.
During the development and testing of the Covert Dark range we adjusted the wire specified in the production of the size 8 Incizor hook, ensuring that this size now offers equivalent strength to all other sizes in this pattern.
