The Essentials Wide Gape X hook was designed as a versatile, all-rounder that can be used right out of the box for a wide variety of rigs, without the need for numerous additional components, whether using bottom baits, pop-ups, or wafters. The recessed eye provides an aggressive action, encouraging rotation and penetration of the hook into the fish's mouth, without the need for additional kickers or heat-shrink tubing.
These hooks are made from our "X" gauge wire, ensuring strength and durability, making them ideal for use both in the UK and abroad. The point is designed to hold its sharpness for a long time, allowing you to catch more fish with the same hook before needing to replace it; however, it's always a good idea to check the sharpness after each cast and replace it if necessary.
The shape is inspired by the original, highly effective Wide Gape model that has landed countless big carp over the years, and with a subtle black nickel finish, these Wide Gapes are sure to land many more carp.
Essentials Wide Gape hooks are available in barbless and barbed versions, in sizes 2, 4, 6 and 8, in packs of ten.
