The Tournament Basia represents the pinnacle of technology, build quality, and mechanical performance for Big Pit carp fishing reels. The 2026 version features a completely revamped look and feel, setting a new benchmark in the market.
For 2026, Big Pit reel design takes a new direction with the stunning 26 Tournament Basia.
The new model features a completely redesigned 45mm spool. The 10% increase in diameter, combined with a very slight 2° taper, allows for even greater line capacity and an impressive 115cm of line per handle turn.
This significant increase in spool size has led to the development of the largest rotor ever made by Daiwa for a Big Pit reel. Strength, balance, and smoothness are guaranteed by the innovative AIRDRIVE rotor in ZAION.
A larger spool and rotor require a correspondingly sized bail. The AIRDRIVE Bail uses a smaller-diameter hollow tube that reduces weight without compromising rigidity and strength.
Slow Cross Wrap provides the perfect line lay angle to optimize both loading and release during the cast. Reducing line friction during the cast allows for more energy to be transferred, significantly increasing casting distance.
Long-distance fishing, whether by casting or by placing bait with a boat, is now a fundamental element of modern carp fishing.
To meet every need, this Basia comes with two coils:
Spool “C”: 300 m of 0.35 mm thread
“LD” spool: 530 m of 0.35 mm thread
Designed to handle any weather condition and operate for hours, or even days, on the rod pod, this Big Pit is built to withstand the most demanding situations.
The presence of Magsealed technology offers additional protection, preventing the entry of water, dirt and abrasive particles inside the gears.
Despite the increase in size and technical features, the 26 Tournament Basia maintains a surprisingly low weight of just 540 g, thanks to the body and rotor in ZAION, a lightweight but extremely resistant material.
